Recently, Jon Andre Loekke, Chairman of Cavendish Hydrogen ASA, and his delegation paid a visit to the Hybot hydrogen-powered heavy-truck manufacturing base in Hubei Xinchufeng for inspection and exchange. Li Gang and Lin Weixuan, partners at Shuimu Yide Investment Management, accompanied the visit, while Zhang Jingfeng, General Manager of Xinchufeng, and Lin Quanhong, Director of Hybot’s Marketing Center, among others, participated in the reception. The visit focused on Hybot’s next-generation, purpose-built hydrogen fuel-cell long-haul logistics heavy truck, the H49. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as technological cooperation in the European market, product certification, and coordinated development of hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
As a global leader in the hydrogen refueling sector, Cavendish is headquartered in Herning, Denmark. Its Danish plant is not only one of the world’s largest production bases for hydrogen station equipment but also houses a fully equipped hydrogen testing laboratory. Notably, its next-generation hydrogen stations are renowned for being “the most energy-efficient on the market,” reducing energy consumption by 50% compared to similar competitors and enabling rapid refueling of heavy-duty trucks in about 10 minutes. Currently, its H2Station™ products cover the full pressure range from 350 bar to 700 bar, with operations spanning Europe, North America, and the Korean market, demonstrating mature engineering delivery capabilities in heavy-vehicle hydrogen refueling applications. This visit, led personally by Cavendish’s senior management, underscores the international industry leader’s high regard for Hybot’s robust product performance and the advanced manufacturing system of XinChufeng.
During the on-site inspection, the delegation visited Hybot’s H49 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck production line and gained a comprehensive understanding of the technological highlights of this world’s first 49-ton-class hydrogen-powered long-haul logistics truck developed from the ground up. Tailored for long-distance trunk-line logistics applications, the H49 has achieved multiple breakthroughs in energy efficiency, driving range, and overall vehicle lightweighting. Under high-speed, fully loaded operating conditions, the H49 consumes only 7.1 kilograms of hydrogen per 100 kilometers, demonstrating outstanding economic performance. Jon Andre Loekke highly praised the H49, noting that Europe is accelerating decarbonization in the transportation sector and urgently needs zero-carbon long-haul transport solutions. He emphasized that the H49 combines cutting-edge technology with operational cost-effectiveness, giving it strong competitiveness in the European market.
A major highlight of this visit was the H49 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck production line at Xin Chufeng, which has just undergone a comprehensive upgrade. The upgrade focused on three key areas: intelligence, automation, and quality. The workshop not only added multiple sub-assembly lines for cabs, fuel cells, power batteries, and chassis, but also fully integrated advanced equipment such as AGV smart transport vehicles, glass-gluing robots, and electric assembly tools. In addition, production workstations were optimized and reconfigured, with several new quality-inspection checkpoints introduced. Following the completion of the renovation, Xin Chufeng’s final assembly workshop now boasts an annual production capacity exceeding 2,000 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, providing robust manufacturing support for the global-scale delivery of Hybot’s H49 model and subsequent vehicle generations.
In recent years, Hybot has adhered to a “dual‑engine strategy of domestic and international expansion,” deepening its presence in China’s trunk‑line logistics sector while actively expanding into overseas markets. Following the successful entry into the Mexican and Chilean markets and achieving initial milestones, the company has continued to ramp up its international operations, further advancing demonstration‑project deployments in Brazil, Singapore, Europe, and other regions, thereby continuously broadening the scope of its global business.
This in-depth collaboration with Cavendish marks a pivotal step in Hybot’s strategic expansion into the European market. Leveraging the technological edge of the H49 product and the upgraded manufacturing capabilities of Xin Chufeng, combined with Cavendish’s extensive resource network and deep technical expertise in hydrogen refueling infrastructure, the two parties are poised to co-create a closed-loop ecosystem of “high-efficiency vehicles + cutting-edge energy” in Europe, thereby accelerating the international rollout of Hybot’s integrated “Vehicle + Energy + N” hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle solution.
